Medearis Robertson — Information Architect & Researcher

My professional experience spans occupational fatality investigation, environmental compliance, industrial operations, workforce research, executive administration, and professional and technical writing.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health Science.

For 11 years, I conducted field research with the Fatality Assessment and Control Evaluation (FACE) Program, completing approximately 90 occupational fatality investigations. This work involved interviewing witnesses, employers, law enforcement personnel, OSHA representatives, coroners, attorneys, and family members; examining and researching equipment and operational practices; reviewing safety documentation; and preparing investigative reports and prevention recommendations.

As an independent consultant, I conducted research for the Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center, interviewing more than 30 small businesses about employing individuals participating in substance abuse rehabilitation. I analyzed the findings and prepared a white paper that subsequently informed the development of an employer toolkit by others.

My industrial experience includes environmental compliance responsibilities at a grey iron foundry, including regulatory reporting, water testing, hazardous-materials documentation, brownfield oversight, and coordination with regulatory agencies and maintenance personnel. I also worked collaboratively with experienced employees to begin documenting operational processes and capturing their practical knowledge.

Earlier in my career, I served as Executive Secretary to a Chief Actuary and Senior Vice President, gaining experience in executive communication, organization, and handling complex information.

Throughout my career, I have approached complicated problems by listening carefully, asking meaningful questions, examining evidence, respecting specialized expertise, and communicating findings clearly.

My goal is to help organizations turn scattered information, technical knowledge, and complex research into accurate, understandable, and useful results.
